In April 2021 I went on a wellness retreat in Buderim, Sunshine Coast, the retreat was a 5-day life changing experience filled with workshops, meditation, yoga, pranayama, sound healing and so much more. When I booked the retreat, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, I went in with an open mind & a soul that needed healing. One of the most important tips I took away from my week was that you need to take care of yourself first so that you can give others your all.

So many of us believe that by putting yourself first, means that you're being selfish. I am here to tell you that this could not be more wrong. When you’re constantly putting others needs before your own it can be exhausting, you may feel like you have no energy left in the tank for yourself or you may believe that you don’t need time to yourself.

Every day I try to put aside 1 hour for myself, this may be first thing in the morning, when I get home from work at night & sometimes even in the middle of the day if I have a lot going on. In this hour I listen to what my body & mind needs, and I switch off to any outside distractions. Let me tell you, since taking one hour out of each day I have felt a huge shift. I have more energy which means that I have more to give others, I am more intuitive and overall, I am a much calmer & a happier person.

For some of you, 1 hour of alone time isn’t realistic but even if you are able to set 10 minutes aside daily, I can almost guarantee that you will be able to feel the shift. Some of you may be thinking what can I possibly do in 10 minutes that will change my entire day? Well… In 10 minutes, you can do a short meditation, practice gratitude & daily affirmations, simply sit in the sun or pamper yourself with an in-depth skin care regimen, this list can go on and on.

Meditate: 
Meditating is such a huge tool in managing and gaining perspective on stressful situations, increasing self awareness, reducing negative emotions & increasing patience and tolerance. I am someone who always has multiple things going on at once. Even if I’m just sitting at home watching YouTube, I am switching between open tabs as well as scrolling through my phone. So believe me if you’re thinking “Meditation is not for me” or “I just can’t switch off” then I’m here to tell you that YOU CAN! Start with just 5 minutes a day and then work your way to 10 and before you know it you’ll be a pro. Currently my meditation max is 15 minutes. Anything more than this and I begin to get distracted and unsettled, but this is a huge improvement to what I was doing 2 months ago… 2 months ago I had never meditated, and now I am everyday. Since incorporating Meditation into my daily life I can confidently say I am much calmer and more balanced, I am no longer walking around with constant brain fog & I am a happier person because of it. This is Incense - IncenseGratitude & Journaling: 
Practicing gratitude and journaling daily has been one of the biggest contributors to my energy shift. Practicing gratitude enables you to pick out the good in your life and shift your focus from the negative to the positive. You will notice that you will gain a new perspective of what is important to you and understand what you truly appreciate. 

Journaling enables you to get all of your thoughts and feelings out of your head and onto paper without having to actually express them to someone. I am someone that experienced daily brain fog for as long as I could remember, I was living up in my head and overthinking was inevitable — from journaling daily I have noticed that my mind is clearer, mood is brighter, and I don’t overthink as much as I once have.
EUNOIA DAILY RITUALS DECK Sleep: 8-9 Hours night:
Each person is different, and we don’t all need the same amount of sleep per night. By listening to your body and getting the right amount of sleep your body needs, you will instantly feel less tired, more motivated & less stressed. My magic number is 8/9 hours, I try to reach this sleep goal every night, sometimes life gets in the way and this won’t happen and that’s okay, if I can get 5/6 nights out of the week that I reach my sleep goal then I am one happy gal.

Since utilising these daily tools my perspective has completely shifted, I have been forced to stop living on auto pilot and start living consciously — this means being more aware of myself, learning to listen to what my mind and body needs and making more informed and considered decisions in my daily life based around these factors. Each day is different, and you will bump into obstacles along the way, just remember that each obstacle is a new lesson and there is a reason you have to experience it.
